Star City Boxing Presents Peace & Gloves Block Party

Since 2017, Star City Boxing has made a positive impact on the youth and community of Greater Reading. Star City is a non-profit 501(c)3 boxing gym and fitness center located in the sixth ward. Our Mission is to provide a safe space where people of all ages can go to practice and develop healthy fitness habits.

On Saturday, August 13, 2022 at 1pm, we will have our first outdoor Block Party that will be a full day of not only Amateur Boxing but live entertainment and family events. Our event is located in the heart of Downtown Reading, on Penn Street between 5th and 6th streets. We will showcase over 15 bouts with participation of Nationally ranked athletes, including Reading’s own Eric Martinez, boxers from gyms all across our city and the tri state area. Bouts will start at 3:30pm. Music will be by Red Tie Affair Jobany Deboya and we will have live music by Reading’s own up-and-coming artist Sara Z. Attendees will be able to purchase food at multiple vendors and visit tables from small businesses in the area.
