Reading Parking Authority Line Striping Pilot in Effect through October

By Reading Parking Authority

Aug 03, 2022

To make it easier for residents to find legal parking spaces, the City of Reading and the Reading Parking Authority are launching a line striping pilot program. The program was approved by City Council resolution 69-2022 signed on April 11, 2022.

WHAT: Lines will be painted on the street to clearly mark spaces and maximize the number of legal spaces on the block.

WHEN: The pilot program runs July 1—October 1, 2022.

WHERE: The pilot program covers thirty-one blocks throughout the city:

StreetBlock(s)
S. 3rd300
N. 3rd600, 700, 800, 900
S. 6th200, 300, 400
N. 6th900, 1000, 1100, 1200

WHAT HAPPENS NEXT? After the pilot ends, Reading City Council will assess the results and determine if it was successful. If so, they will create an ordinance to make line striping permanent and expand it throughout the city.
