by Visit West Reading

Aug 08, 2022

Every 2nd Friday of the month, the West Reading shops and restaurants celebrate with “2nd Friday on the Avenue” hosted by the West Reading Community Revitalization Foundation (WRCRF). 2nd Friday on the Avenue is a time to celebrate and recognize our independent shops and locally owned restaurants! Join us Friday, August 12th in West Reading!

August 12th 2nd Friday events and promotions include:

  • Live music returns at 6th and Penn Avenues, 6-8pm with songwriter Emme Ryan who has been inspired and influenced by artists such as The Beatles, Joni Mitchell, and Brandi Carlile. Bring a chair, beverage and takeout from your favorite West Reading restaurant and get your toes tapping!
  • Art Plus Gallery, 604 Penn Avenue, will host an Opening Reception from 5 – 8pm featuring Jay Ressler with his personal show titled “Double Exposure-The Real and The Surreal”.
  • Join Fleet Feet, 705 Penn Avenue, for a run to get your day started! The group starts at 6:30am and runs a 3-5 mile loop through the Wyomissing Park system. Feel free to stick around the store afterwards for some Dosie Dough Donuts and coffee before you head off to work! All paces are welcome.
  • Join Hot Yoga West Reading for the last Moving Mediation of the season with support of the Borough of West Reading at the West Reading Pavillon, 501 Sycamore Road. This open air, donation only event is for ages 18+. Cultivate mindfulness, community and kindness every Friday from 7:30 – 8:45am!
