Popular Guess This Famous Building Goes Live with Muhlenberg Greene Architects at the Berks History Center’s Second Saturday Program this Weekend

Back by popular demand, Muhlenberg Greene Architect’s Guess This Famous Building – Reading, PA Edition is coming live to the Berks History Center’s Second Saturdays program on September 10, 2022, in honor of firm founder Frederick A. Muhlenberg’s 135th birthday this month.

How well do you know your local Berks County architecture? Join the fun and see if you can Guess This Famous Building from the photos and the fun facts presented and win prizes!

All are welcome to join the contest to try and guess the names of the buildings featured during the Live show and compete for prizes. These local Reading, PA area landmarks, past and present, will be shown in photographs from the Firm’s archives with fun facts providing additional clues.

This live edition of Guess This Famous Building will be hosted by firm Principal and Vice President Bob Conklin, AIA, NCARB and Director of Business Development, Suzanne Cody.

The cost of this program is $5 for Berks History Center members and $8 for non-members. The program fee includes admission to the BHC Museum, located at 940 Centre Avenue in Reading.

An exhibit of medals which belonged to the founder of Muhlenberg Greene Architects, Frederick Augustus Muhlenberg II, FAIA, who was renowned for his endeavors in architecture, politics, social services, and the military, will be on display.

In addition, the firm and Berks History Center have collaborated on a limited-edition note card set of Muhlenberg’s hand-drawn renderings of architectural designs in Berks County will debut for sale in the gift shop. The fourteen-card set features seven designs, including Stokesay Castle and Croll and Keck, complete with envelopes. The note card set retails at $20.

Fees will be accepted at the door on the day of the event. Coffee, hot tea, juice, and light refreshments will be made available for participants at 9:30 AM.
