Breast Cancer Support Services of Berks County Announces New Team Members, Promotion

Breast Cancer Support Services of Berks County is delighted to welcome two new members to the BCSS team, Emily Lux and Madisyn Klein as Program Manager and Development Assistant. BCSS is also pleased to announce the promotion of Jeanette Christophel as Program and Volunteer Coordinator from Administrative Assistant. The Board of Directors, team members, and volunteers welcome Emily and Madisyn to the BCSS family and congratulate Jeanette on her promotion.

Emily Lux

Emily attended Mansfield University where she received her Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology and was an active member of Zeta Tau Alpha. As an Alumnae of Zeta Tau Alpha, Emily has a passion for Breast Cancer education, awareness and advocacy. Emily is excited to fuel that passion and return to serving Breast Cancer Survivors by providing support through programming at BCSS.

As Program Manager, Emily will be responsible for developing and delivering programs that meet the needs of the breast cancer community by managing all support groups and programs. She will coordinate activities and presenters for these programs and events.

Emily currently lives in Stevens, PA with her husband Steve and cat, Poppy. When she is not at work Emily can be found baking, doing puzzles or enjoying a walk outside.

Madisyn Klein

Madisyn Klein was born and raised in Sinking Spring, PA where she attended Conrad Weiser High School. She then graduated from Hood College with a Bachelor’s Degree in Integrated Marketing and Communications. Madisyn has been and continues to be inspired by the personal strength, courage and commitment she has witnessed at BCSS and has since developed a passion for the organization and her job.

As Development Assistant, Madisyn will be responsible for various projects including marketing and communications. She will oversee the social media, website and other special events. Madisyn will also manage the database and donations.

Madisyn continues to live in Sinking Spring with her two dogs, Mugzy who shares the same birthday as her and Charlie, her new puppy. In her free time she enjoys reading, hiking and traveling.

Jeanette Christophel

Jeanette has been with the BCSS team for only four months, but in those few months she has made a positive impact. As Program and Volunteer Coordinator, Jeanette will be responsible for overseeing several programs and support groups. She will also oversee all training for volunteers and provide information or support to anyone in need of assistance.

Jeanette was born in Ephrata, PA and moved to Reading, PA when she was two years old. She attended Eastern Mennonite University in Virginia where she obtained her degree in English Education and a minor in TESL (Teaching English as a Second Language).

Jeanette still lives in Reading, PA with her husband Kevin, whom she has three children with. When she is not working, Jeanette enjoys spending time with her two young grandchildren, Asher and Levi. When she is not with them, she is either reading a book, cooking or going on a hike.
