Community Forum: Internet Connectivity and Health Care Access

by The Berks Alliance

Oct 11, 2022

The COVID Pandemic has underscored the importance of having access to affordable, reliable high speed Internet service.  But for many people accessibility also means having the needed technology and the ability to use it.  The use of telemedicine—remote access to health care services—has been growing in recent years.  And the COVID Pandemic accelerated this process.  People with chronic illnesses, physical impairments, behavioral health challenges, age or language issues faced increased barriers to accessing care because they lacked access to the Internet.

Leaders in the Health Care industry have begun to recognize that social factors—like access to food, adequate housing and transportation—can have a significant impact on people’s health.  Internet accessibility is increasingly one of those challenges.

Join us for our community forum on October 20th when national leaders who speak to the challenges and opportunities of that Internet Access presents for the health of our community.

When: Oct 20, 2022, 11:30 AM Eastern Time (US and Canada)
