PA Small Business Development Centers Announce New Advisory Board Members

The Pennsylvania Small Business Development Centers (SBDC), leaders in providing consulting and training to small businesses and supporting business start-ups and existing business expansion, announce the addition of two new members to their Advisory Board. The new members of the Advisory Board are Richard (Rick) Turner, MBA, and Joseph (Joe) Wilson. Turner and Wilson both have long, tenured individual careers and relationships with the Pennsylvania SBDC.

Rick Turner, MBA, brings broad experience as an executive leader in numerous roles, including sales, marketing, manufacturing, and management positions. Turner, a business owner, operates as the President and CEO of Legacy Cigar Lounge, LLC. Turner will be opening Legacy Cigar Lounge, LLC in West Reading, Pennsylvania, in 2023. Prior to establishing his own business, he led several national teams and managed marketing teams within several organizations earning recognition for outstanding performance, teamwork, and leadership.

Joe Wilson, Relationship Manager and Minority Business Development VP at PNC Bank, focus is strengthening community resources that will enable financial wellness for small businesses within diverse communities. Wilson has spent more than 20 years at PNC bank, shifting to his current position from a Branch Manager role. Wilson’s leadership includes serving his community as a committee member for Good Works, a member of the Coatesville NAACP and the Coatesville High School Wrestling Booster Club and is a licensed boxing judge. Wilson has received numerous performance awards at PNC Bank including multiple Market All-Star awards and Gallup Human Six Sigma designations.

“I am happy that Mr. Turner and Mr. Wilson have accepted appointments to the Pennsylvania SBDC Advisory Board.  Their knowledge and experience with small business issues will make a major contribution to our board,” said PASBDC State Director Dr. Ernie Post.

These individuals will join fourteen existing board members and will be led by Chair, David Patti, Director of Communications at Customers Bank.

The Advisory Board is appointed to provide advice, strategic directions, and recommendations for program development. The Advisory Board is composed of a distinguished diverse group of experts and representatives of the state who serve as Ambassadors of the Pennsylvania SBDC and advocate for the organization.
