The Berks County 4-H Horse Members were recognized recently for their participation and achievements in the horse program for 2022.

A highlight of the banquet was the announcement of the 2022 Berks County Outstanding Horse Members. All 4-H horse club members have an opportunity to fill out an application on their accomplishments and participation in 4-H events for the past year. These forms get judged on the overall participation in 4-H events. The winners were:

Junior Division (8-12): Champion, Jessica Fox from Ride for Pride 4-H Horse Club

Intermediate Division (13-15): Champion, Maisy Funk from Ride for Pride 4-H Horse Club; Reserve Champion, Kamryn Witman from Blue Ribbon Riders 4-H Horse Club

Senior Division (16+): Champion, Megan Vance from Blue Ribbon Riders 4-H Horse Club; Reserve Champion, Elizabeth Jones from Ride for Pride 4-H Horse Club

Honorable Mention-Spirit of 4-H Awards: Natalee Fryer from Blue Ribbon Riders 4-H Horse Club.

Other awards handed out included:

Participation in the PA 4-H Junior Championship Show as an exhibitor this past July: Caitlin Diffendal and Megan Salamone

Participation in the PA State 4-H Horse Show as an exhibitor this past October: Reagan Bright, Caitlin Diffendal, Lindsay Diffendal, Ava Fedak, Jessica Fox, Hannah Laverty, Megan Salamone, and Megan Vance.
