Small Business Alliance Brings Food Market to Glenside Community

Coming Soon, King Food Super Market. In collaboration with the Greater Berks Development Fund, Neighborhood Housing Services of Greater Berks has provided a small business funding in support of the soon-to-open food market at 1310 Schuylkill Ave, in the Glenside area of the City of Reading.

The Glenside community in the City of Reading lost its supermarket in the area over three years ago. To support the local Glenside community, King Supermarket Food, LLC will reopen at the exact location of the former Super Saver Market and Big Johns. It will retail a wide range of perishable goods and non–perishable goods at affordable prices from different international and local brands.

King Supermarket Food, LLC is a family business owned by Misael Marmolejos and his immediate family members. Misael has more than 15 years of experience in the food industry. He had grocery stores in Reading, has worked for larger supermarkets, and now operates a very successful pizza shop, King of Cheesy Pizza in Reading. King Food Super Market will be a fully operational supermarket with a grocerant model offering prepared meals at affordable prices.
