BCTV Re-Launches Health Campaign Series With #HeartMonth

Berks Community Television’s is re-launching its initiative to connect Berks County with valuable health & wellness information, starting with American Heart Month. Throughout the month of February, BCTV will be sharing facts, statistics, tips, and local resources for improving heart health.

According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, 1 in 3 deaths in the United States are linked to cardiovascular disease, about 47% of all Americans having at least 1 of 3 key risk factors for heart disease: high blood pressure, high cholesterol, and smoking.

“The term “heart disease” refers to several types of heart conditions. In the United States, the most common type of heart disease is coronary artery disease (CAD), which can lead to heart attack. You can greatly reduce your risk for heart disease through lifestyle changes and, in some cases, medicine.”

BCTV is launching new community health campaigns every month to connect Berks County with information to promote healthy living. Monthly themes will be announced and promoted with messaging distributed across the media organization’s multiple platforms.

Follow BCTV on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram to stay up-to-date on your community media and #HeartMonth.
