Join the League of Women Voters of Berks County on BCTV as we discuss “The State of PA State Government” on Tuesday February 14th, 2023 8pm-9pm.
Our guests are Patrick Christmas of the Committee of Seventy and Carol Kuniholm, cofounder and Chair of Fair Districts PA.
Patrick Christmas – Patrick is responsible for overseeing the Committee of Seventy’s policy agenda and advocacy strategy, in addition to supporting its election programming and communications. His primary duties are to work with local and state election officials to administer safe, secure, and accessible elections and to advance reforms that bolster ethical, representative and effective government.
Carol Kuniholm – Carol is Chair and cofounder of Fair Districts PA a non-partisan, all-volunteer coalition working on redistricting reform in Pennsylvania. She also leads the Fix Harrisburg campaign, a joint campaign of FDPA and LWVPA focused on advocacy for legislative rules that could ensure a more collaborative process in Harrisburg.
Questions we expect to answer include:
- What is going on in the Pennsylvania State Legislature?
- What changes would help make legislature function better? Why would those changes help?
- Why there’s such strain between the branches and the parties?
- What would help and to get involved?
- What amendments to the PA State Constitution are being discussed? And why or why not?
