Gallery director Susan Biebuyck encouraged artists to explore the many definitions and uses of the word “face” to inspire their responses. Works in oil, pencil, and watercolor to clay, glass, and fiber, are represented. The annual exhibit showcases dozens of local artists and offers an array of styles.
Juror for the exhibit was fine artist Merrill Weber. Weber is an award-winning artist whose work is included in exhibitions and in museums world-wide. Her impressionistic paintings which capture snippets of life are described by collectors as imaginative, playful, happy, and filled with energy and hope. Her solo exhibit of 57 oil portraits Inspirational Women has won the attention of galleries and collectors everywhere.
