Dr. Debra Powell Will Host Her 14th Event
On Wednesday, March 8, Debra Powell, MD, Interim Chair, Department of Medicine, Chief, Division of Infectious Disease, and Medical Director, Infection Prevention, at Reading Hospital, will host a special “Good Thyme for Life” dining event from 5 to 9 p.m. at Saucony Creek Franklin Station, 692 Franklin Street, Reading.
The event will benefit Co-County Wellness Services, an organization that provides prevention services and compassionate care for individuals and communities experiencing HIV/AIDS and other sexually transmitted diseases. The organization serves Berks and Schuylkill counties. Dr. Powell is a board member for Co-County Wellness Services.
“I’m very passionate about the services Co-County Wellness provides and as a board member I’ve had the privilege to see firsthand how these services can positively change the life of the individuals in our community,” said Dr. Powell. “I look forward to this event each year and hope the community will join me at Saucony Creek or attend one of the other restaurants generously participating in the event. It’s a wonderful opportunity for the community to come together and raise money for an important cause.”
“A Good Thyme for Life” is an annual dining-out event in which participating restaurants agree to donate a percentage of the evening’s revenue to Co-County Wellness Services.
Charles F. Barbera, MD, Reading Hospital president and CEO added, “Dr. Powell’s dedication to our community is inspiring. I thank her for her commitment not only to her patients but the entire community. It is a privilege to work alongside her and see the impact she continues to make.”
