The Junior League of Reading and Youth Volunteer Corps of Reading Present a Film Screening and Community Talk Back

The Junior League of Reading and Youth Volunteer Corps of Reading invite the community to Goggleworks on March 26, 2023, from 4-6 PM for a film produced by the Youth Volunteer Corps of Reading about their Stand Together Against Racism (STAR) movement. A youth-led panel discussion with student representatives from STAR will follow the 30-minute film screening.

The “Stand Together & Start Talking” presentation is an informative documentary of student activism, innovative partnerships, and inspiring programs conducted locally by STAR, a youth-initiated program to address racism in our society with several established STAR clubs in Berks County schools.

Attendees will learn more about the genesis of the STAR program and its local impact on our community. A panel discussion with the student activists will follow. The film screening and reflective conversation is recommended to Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion officers, community members, educators, and students ages 11 and up.

Tickets are $10 per person, and students are free of charge. Advance ticket purchase is recommended online at the Junior League of Reading website, under the event calendar. Visit JLReading.org to reserve tickets, donate funds, and learn more.
