West Reading Borough Provides R.M. Palmer Briefing Following NTSB Investigative Update

The National Transportation Safety Board has released a brief update regarding the incident at R.M. Palmer that occurred on March 24th, 2023. Please refer to the NTSB release for further information regarding their findings. The investigation is still ongoing and under the direction of the NTSB.

As a further update to the site at S. 2nd Avenue, residents can expect to potentially see large equipment needed to remove manufacturing equipment from Building #1. There are no further updates regarding the clean-up, as the Borough is still awaiting plans from the property owners as they work with their insurance providers to move forward.

The Small Business Association will be available until Friday at 6:00 p.m. at the West Reading Fire Department for all small businesses affected by the incident. Customer Service Representatives will be available at the BRC to answer questions about the disaster loan program and help business owners complete their applications.
