100% of donations from campaign to go directly toward supporting kids in need
Wednesday Sheetz, a major Mid-Atlantic restaurant and convenience chain, is proud to announce Sheetz For the Kidz™, an employee-driven charity supporting children in need, raised $660,863 during its annual month of in-store fundraising in July.
“We are extremely appreciative of our customers and their ongoing generosity,” said Brittany Funcheon, Executive Director for Sheetz For the Kidz. “Year in and year out, our customers amaze us by their desire to give back and help their communities. Because of them, Sheetz For the Kidz will be able to make the holiday season brighter for thousands of local children and families in need.”
Every year, in July and December, customers at Sheetz’s 680+ stores are able to support local families in need of clothes, toys and other basic needs by making a donation at check-out through change boxes or adding funds to their purchase at the point of sale.
In 2022, customers raised a total of $1.6 million for children in need through in-store fundraising in July and December. The donations helped make the holiday season brighter for over 11,000 children within the six states Sheetz operates. To date, the charity has positively impacted more than 160,000 children living in the communities Sheetz serves.
In partnership with Make-A-Wish®, funds raised during the campaign also sponsor wishes of children with life-threatening medical conditions. The charity sponsors one child per Sheetz operating district, totaling 65 children this year.
In order to broaden the connection to the communities it serves, Sheetz for the Kidz partners with Feeding America® to provide food to children in need. In 2022, their $685,000 commitment served over 1.5 million meals through backpack programs, kids cafés, school and mobile pantries and summer feeding programs.
