GoggleWorks Center for the Arts (GoggleWorks) is thrilled to announce the return of the highly anticipated Pumpkin Palooza. This admission-free, family-friendly celebration of fall is set to take place on Sunday, Oct. 8, at GoggleWorks’ impressive 145,000-square-foot campus in downtown Reading, Pennsylvania.

One of the highlights of Pumpkin Palooza is the stunning handblown glass pumpkin patch available for purchase. For those looking to get hands-on with their pumpkin creations, the event offers a variety of interactive workshops, including paint-your-own hot glass pumpkin, make-your-own fused glass pumpkin, and make-your-own flameworked pumpkin. All proceeds benefit the non-profit art center’s educational mission and outreach programs. The art center will again feature a weeks-long city-wide pumpkin hunt leading up to the event to highlight local businesses.

“This year is our 9th annual Pumpkin Palooza, and we’re so excited to bring back time-tested and treasured activities while we introduce brand-new programming,” said Natalie Fenner, Signature Events Manager for GoggleWorks. Fenner highlighted a new workshop called “Paint-Your-Own Pumpkin,” which will allow attendees to paint on and take home their very own sandblasted hot glass blown pumpkin. “The festival will also welcome new vendors,” said Fenner. “The local pig rescue, Puddin’ Heartland 1st, will bring their pigs, who will join in on the art festivities by painting their own masterpieces. The Widoktadwen Center for Native Knowledge will add to our community educational offerings.”

To benefit local businesses, GoggleWorks is also coordinating a city-wide pumpkin hunt leading up to Pumpkin Palooza. Each week, participants have the chance to take home a handmade glass pumpkin cost-free by solving a clue, which reveals the pumpkin’s secret location at one of a number of local businesses. The Great Pumpkin Hunt starts on Sept. 25 and takes place online each Monday, Wednesday, and Friday until Pumpkin Palooza on Oct. 8. To join, pumpkin hunters can follow GoggleWorks on Facebook or Instagram @goggleworks, where clues will be shared to locate the glass pumpkins.
