Berks Community Television Welcomes Four New Staff Members
Rachael Haldeman.

Berks Community Television (BCTV) is pleased to announce the addition of four new staff members in the month of September: intern Rachael Haldeman, CareerLink employee Xavier Garvin, studio and field technician Jon Jordan, and social and digital media manager Lexi Gonzalez.

They will participate in content creation for BCTV’s digital platforms, provide technical and control room support for studio programming in the VISIONS studio at BCTV, and take on various roles in special projects and initiatives.

Xavier Garvin.

“I wanted to intern at BCTV to get more experience in the field I hope to work in one day,” Haldeman, said. She is a student at Exeter High School.

Garvin graduated from Wyomissing High School in 2022 and is an avid reader and artist.

“I came on board at BCTV through a partnership with CareerLink to further my knowledge in editing and videography so that I can fulfill my desire to create music in the future,” Garvin said.

Jon Jordan.

Jordan was born and raised in and around the City of Reading and graduated from Governor Mifflin High School in 2014.

Out of high school, Jordan created Faot Media Company, a digital media distribution business that he continues to operate. Jordan also runs two gaming YouTube channels: Pozz Games, which raises awareness and funds for cystic fibrosis research through video game content, and The Nintendo Beast, which focuses on a general target audience for Nintendo games.

Jordan has served as a juror with the Reading FilmFEST for several years. In addition to his new role at BCTV, Jordan became the new theatre manager for the Boscov Theatre at GoggleWorks Center for the Arts this month.

“I’ve been passionate about video production ever since I got my first camcorder as a kid, so getting the opportunity to come on board at BCTV and put that passion to work for my community has been very exciting,” Jordan said.

In his sparse free time, Jon plays video games, watches movies, and attends ice hockey games as a Reading Royals season ticket holder with his wife.

Lexi Gonzalez.

Gonzalez is a recent Lebanon Valley College graduate with a bachelor’s degree in English and creative writing.

“I am excited for this opportunity to serve Berks County alongside the wonderful team at Berks Community Television,” Gonzalez said BCTV’s former social and digital media coordinator, Mady Johnston, left big shoes to fill.

When she isn’t working, Gonzalez enjoys reading and writing, bookmaking, going for walks (preferably on the beach) and hikes (preferably to see waterfalls), taking photographs, and playing the piano and organ.
