VOiCEup Berks is thrilled to announce that several remarkable students from Wilson School District have been honored with The President’s Volunteer Service Award for their extraordinary commitment to community service through the Youth Volunteer Corps of Reading, a program hosted by VOiCEup Berks.
The President’s Volunteer Service Award is a prestigious national recognition program created to celebrate the remarkable contributions of volunteers across the United States. This award, presented on behalf of the President of the United States, acknowledges individuals who have demonstrated an unwavering dedication to volunteerism and service. It recognizes their leadership, commitment, and their profound impact on their communities.
The students who have earned this distinguished honor are as follows:
- BRONZE Service Award Recipients (100-174 service hours requirement during a 12-month period for young adults age 16-25): Jaida Garber, Kemi Ojikutu, and Sindura Sridhar.
- SILVER Service Award Recipients (175-249 service hours requirement during a 12-month period for young adults age 16-25): Alia Hollock, Ellie Hook, Mia Worley, and Samantha Martinez.
- GOLD Service Award Recipient (100+ service hours requirement during a 12-month period for teens age 11-15): Athena Worley.
These young volunteers have consistently devoted their time, energy, and passion to making a positive impact in their community. The President’s Volunteer Service Award not only applauds their commitment but also highlights the meaningful changes they have brought about in the lives of others.

Youth Volunteer Corps of Reading, a program hosted by VOiCEup Berks, is committed to developing leadership skills and promoting a lifetime commitment to service among young people. The program offers student-driven volunteer projects for youth aged 11 to 18 on Saturdays, after school, during school, virtually, and during the summer. YVC of Reading is one of over 30 affiliates of Youth Volunteer Corps, headquartered in Kansas City, and has engaged hundreds of young people from diverse backgrounds in over 35,000 hours of service to benefit the local Berk County community over the past seven years.
