U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs’ (VA) Indiantown Gap National Cemetery (IGNC) announced it will host its 41st annual Veterans Day Program on Sunday, Nov. 5, at 2 p.m., rain or shine. Attendees are encouraged to dress appropriately for the weather. This year’s program is co-sponsored by the Indiantown Gap National Cemetery Memorial Council and the Veterans of Foreign Wars, Department of Pennsylvania.

John Spruyt, director of IGNC, will welcome the audience. Veterans of Foreign Wars, Department of Pennsylvania Commander, David “Spike” Gyger, will deliver the keynote address. Major General Mark Schindler will speak on the re-dedication of the recently renovated Pennsylvania (PA) Veterans Memorial. Joseph Snyder, Memorial Council Vice President, will serve as the master of ceremonies.

Parking will be at MSC Industrial Supply Company, 100 MSC Dr., Jonestown, located just east of Fort Indiantown Gap. There will be shuttle bus transportation to and from the PA Veterans Memorial. If you are entering from the west, the detour around Fort Indiantown Gap is on Bittle Road then Quartermaster Road and back to Fisher Avenue. There will be limited handicapped parking at the Cemetery itself.

The Avenue of Flags display on the Cemetery will be flown through Veterans Day Week. The Avenue of Flags is made up of casket flags that have been donated by Veterans’ families. State, territory, and service flags will also be flown.
