Tower Health is proud of the excellent cancer care delivered across all of our locations, and we are aligning this care even more closely. Starting in November, Phoenixville Hospital Cancer Center and Pottstown Hospital Cancer Center will become McGlinn Cancer Institute at Phoenixville Hospital and McGlinn Cancer Institute at Pottstown Hospital.

McGlinn Cancer Institute is the Tower Health network’s renowned clinical and research facility based at Reading Hospital. McGlinn Cancer Institute is nationally recognized for its leading-edge treatment options, and with this strategic alignment, Tower Health will jointly leverage the success of our three accredited programs and connect cancer care in Berks, Chester, and Montgomery counties.

“Tapping into our collaborative strength across the health system will support patients throughout their entire cancer journey – from screening to diagnosis to surgery, treatment, and survivorship,” said P. Sue Perrotty, Tower Health president and CEO. “Our staff will share surgical expertise, clinical pathways, and best practices systemwide to provide our patients with a complete care continuum to ensure the highest standard of care no matter where they live in our communities.”

By aligning clinical pathways and best practices across its cancer providers at Phoenixville Hospital, Pottstown Hospital, and Reading Hospital, McGlinn Cancer Institute provides patients with the highest standard of cancer care without having to travel far from home. The hospitals are accredited by the Commission on Cancer of the American College of Surgeons and the American College of Radiation Oncology, which requires providers to meet the most stringent clinical guidelines.

With cancer specialists close to home, McGlinn Cancer Institute offers:

  • A personalized treatment plan designed for each patient.
  • Targeted cancer treatments and immunotherapies to optimize healing.
  • Access to the latest clinical trials.
  • The most advanced radiation therapies, including Stereotactic Body Radiation Therapy.
  • Minimally invasive surgery for faster recovery.
  • Expertise in complex surgeries.

“We are proud of the high-quality cancer care delivered at each of our hospitals,” said Rich Newell, president and CEO at Phoenixville and Pottstown Hospitals. “By aligning our teams and resources, we are ensuring everyone has access to our caring team members who can provide the best possible outcome for each patient.”
