The Heritage of Green Hills is hosting two holiday-themed open houses of its spectacular train room for the first time since 2019.
The public is invited to enjoy the intricate multi-train and multi-track layout created and curated by the senior living community’s residents on Saturday, Dec. 2, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., and Saturday, Dec. 16, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
The train room display is an ever-evolving labor of love featuring some of the area’s favorite landmarks, including the Reading Fairgrounds Racetrack, the Reading Pagoda, the William Penn Memorial Fire Tower, and Pomeroy’s Department Store.
Elves will serve cocoa and holiday treats at the family-friendly event.
“We’re thrilled to be able to invite the public to our Train Room Open House again,” said Doug Walther, the community’s executive director. “Visiting the Heritage Train Room is a holiday tradition for many families, and this year, we’re looking forward to seeing familiar faces and new ones, too!”
The Heritage of Green Hills is located at 200 Tranquility Ln., Shillington.
