The Berks Alliance will spotlight the Berks Business Education Coalition on Jan. 31, 2024, at 12 noon, via Zoom.
The mission of the Berks Business Education Coalition is to develop and coordinate programs within the business and education communities that improve the competencies of students and help ensure that they have the aspirations, skills, and knowledge to support their life choices after high school. Their most recent goals are:
- Promote career awareness and development programs for school students;
- Promote interest and understanding of post-secondary education opportunities;
- Facilitate interaction between school districts, local colleges, and business leaders in Berks County; and
- Support efforts to expand and strengthen early childhood education.
Launched in 1992, the Berks Business Education recently named a new Executive Director, Terri Hill. Terri has emphasized that among her initial priorities will be creating more opportunities for education and business leaders to share the challenges that they are facing and help develop innovative strategies to address these challenges. She plans to create a forum where these leaders can come together to share insights and solve common problems by learning from each other.
