Berks County Nonprofit to Host Charity Event at GoggleWorks

We Agape You, DBA Veteran Suicide Prevention 26 Per Day, is a nonprofit organization dedicated to combatting veteran suicides and promoting mental health awareness.

Randolph Simmons, President of We Agape You, invites the public to a charity event on Monday, April 1, 2024, starting at 11 a.m., at Studio 238 in the GoggleWorks, 201 Washington St., Reading.

“At this event, we will introduce new solutions outlined in my recently published book entitled Breaking Chains: Veteran Suicide Prevention of 26 Per Day, which addresses the alarming statistical rate of 26 veteran suicides per day and over 100 million mental health diagnoses annually. Additionally, we will commemorate the donation of a school bus to a local AAU basketball program, which provides mentorship, guidance, community, and perseverance to children in the greater Reading area.”

This AAU basketball program is much more than just a sports team, as it serves as a beacon of hope for disadvantaged youth in our community. “Through basketball, these children receive not only athletic training but also invaluable life skills, mentorship, and support. The program instills in them the values of teamwork, discipline, and perseverance, helping them overcome challenges and build a brighter future,” remarked Simmons.

Unfortunately, the team is currently facing financial constraints that threaten its ability to continue its vital work. Many of these children come from impoverished backgrounds and rely on the program for guidance and support. Without adequate funding, the program risks being unable to provide essential resources such as gym space, uniforms, and transportation, thus hindering its ability to reach and empower these vulnerable youth.

Given that we are a nonprofit organization assisting another charitable initiative, we are hoping to receive donated food for this important event, as this generous contribution would not only help alleviate the financial burden on the AAU basketball program but also demonstrate your commitment to making a positive impact in our community.

We Agape You, DBA Veteran Suicide Prevention 26 Per Day, is thrilled to unveil “The Solution” — a groundbreaking initiative harnessing the staggering resource of 15.1 million vacant houses and properties across the nation. “Contrasted with the Department of Housing and Urban Development’s (HUD) report of 582,000 Americans experiencing homelessness, the disparity is staggering. Even if we were to house every single homeless person, over 14 million vacant properties would remain unutilized. This glaring inequality is an undeniable injustice that demands immediate action!” noted Simmons.

“The Solution” aims to address our current epidemics head-on by harnessing the potential of vacant properties for a multitude of purposes. “By mobilizing the resources at our disposal, we can make a tangible difference in the lives of those experiencing homelessness, mental health illnesses, crime reduction from neighborhood beautification, and veteran suicide prevention, and veteran second medical diagnosis to reduce prescription drug dependency,” added Simmons. “Together, we can create opportunities, empower communities, and build a brighter future for all by creating employment, business start-up opportunities, and youth mentorships.”

We Agape You invites individuals and organizations to join in this impactful endeavor by donating any and all houses or properties or offering leases and rentals. Your donation not only helps the cause but also offers a win-win scenario for the donor. As a tax-exempt organization, We Agape You will provide a corporate tax-exempt letter to file with the IRS. Any donation made will be 100% tax-deductible.

As with any charitable contribution, We Agape You encourages donors to seek guidance from legal and financial professionals to maximize the benefits of their donations. With your support, we can begin to combat this silent genocide, which surpasses the death toll of both WWII and Vietnam combined, with over 100 million fatalities due to diagnosed mental health illness.

Join us on April 1st from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at GoggleWorks Studio 238 to learn more and help the cause. A short presentation is on the agenda.

If you are unable to attend the April event, you may purchase Breaking Chains: Veteran Suicide Prevention of 26 Per Day on Amazon or on Kindle for only $.99.
