REALTORS Bring Easter Joy to Local Children

Members of the Reading-Berks Association of REALTORS (R-BAR) donated 310 Easter baskets to benefit local children in need. Baskets were distributed to Safe Berks, Mary’s Shelter, and 2nd Street Learn Center at Opportunity House in the 22nd year of the non-profit service project Easter Baskets for Berks.

“Donating Easter baskets to Safe Berks, Mary’s Shelter, and the 2nd Street Learning Center is our gesture of kindness and generosity to spread joy and hope to those that are facing hardships,” said Jennifer Barkman, Vice Chair of the R-BAR Outreach Committee and REALTOR at Coldwell Banker Realty. “We are dedicated to supporting and helping our community.”

Easter Baskets for Berks is a non-profit service project started by a REALTOR who saw a need for children to receive toys and gifts throughout the year and not just at Christmas time. R-BAR members continued the project’s mission this year, as giving back to the community is at the heart of what it means to be a REALTOR.

R-BAR members filled over 300 baskets for children at local non-profit organizations.

“Filling Easter baskets for non-profits has become a popular outreach project because it not only allows us to collaborate within our own offices but with all other agents across Berks. It is such a small and fun act of kindness with a huge impact,” explained Barkman.

R-BAR members from 19 different brokerages and affiliated organizations filled baskets with candy, toys, crafts, and other items to ensure local children receive a bit of joy this Easter season.
