Join us as we celebrate the heroes in our lives recognized with U.S. flag dedications at the West Reading-Wyomissing Rotary Club’s 2024 Berks County Field of Honor®.

The 200+ U.S. flag dedications range from those currently serving in our active-duty military, veterans, fallen servicemen and women, first responders, heroes in our lives to hometown heroes such as teachers, non-profit leaders, or the ever-dependable neighbor.

The ceremony will include the Presentation of Colors by Berks County Sheriff Honor Guard, the Pledge of Allegiance led by William Tobin – Berks County Veterans Affairs, the National Anthem performed by Eagle Scout Benjamin Small, and Taps played by Richard Pawling. Harper Ostrich – Wyomissing JROTC (on behalf of Seidel Hyundai) and Ed Baetzel – PA American Water will lead our Moment of Reflection & Honor. Berks County comments provided by Senator Judy Schwank, Representative Johanny Cepeda-Freytiz, Berks Commissioner Chair Christian Leinbach, and Wyomissing Borough Manager Michele Bare, along with Dr. Charles Barbera, President/CEO of Reading Hospital (Old Glory Sponsor). The 1st Pennsylvania Regiment of the Continental Line will provide musket salutes to honor our Heroes.

A flag disposal box will be available with a proper flag retirement ceremony provided later by Hawk Mtn. Scouts. Please bring your old worn U.S. flags and place them in the disposal box on July 3.

The 200 U.S. flags will be on display from July 1-6, 2024, and visitors are welcome.

This is an experience hard to describe, but never to be forgotten. We invite all to visit the Berks County Field of Honor® patriotic display from July 1-6 and walk among the posted flags.
