De Mujer a Mujer, a special program of the Greater Reading Chamber Alliance (GRCA), invites the community to a presentation titled “Championing Yourself and Other Women,” on Thursday, June 5, from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., at Tec Centro in Reading.
Keynote speaker Brenda Rosado, Director of Diversity and Community Engagement at East Penn Manufacturing and Chair of De Mujer a Mujer, will share her personal and professional insights on the importance of supporting and championing women. With nearly 30 years of experience at East Penn and leadership roles in numerous community initiatives, Rosado embodies the mission of lifting others while leading with purpose.
The evening will also include the sixth annual De Mujer a Mujer Awards, recognizing remarkable women in Berks County who exemplify leadership, community commitment, and entrepreneurial success. Rosado, last year’s Community Impact Award recipient, will help honor this year’s changemakers:
- Ericka Ruelas, VP, branch manager of Finanta Credit Union, will be awarded the Community Impact Award.
- This award honors a woman who has made a lasting impact through her dedication to service and leadership and/or a woman who has demonstrated leadership and commitment to the community.
- Samantha Martinez, a senior at Wilson High School, will be given the Young Changemaker Award.
- This award highlights a promising young woman who is already making a difference and shows great potential to lead and/or a young woman, ages 18 to 25, showing strong leadership and community dedication with high potential to be a future leader in Berks County.
- Limarys Rodriguez, owner of LMG Marketing Solutions, will receive the Small Business Owner Award.
- This award recognizes a dynamic entrepreneur who is making waves through both business success and community involvement and/or woman business owner thriving in and engaging with the Berks County ommunity.
Interpretation services will be provided through a partnership with OK Connection.
