On Wednesday, Sept. 10, the United Way of Berks County launched its annual Campaign Kickoff, where over 260 community members, volunteers, and local leaders gathered to rally support for vital programs that promote education, financial stability, health, and basic needs across the community.
Led by campaign co-chairs Angel and Scott Helm, the event unveiled a fundraising goal of $10.75 million, along with the introduction of this year’s Loaned Campaign Specialists (LCSs), who are loaned by their company and serve as ambassadors and help raise the funds invested in United Way’s 80+ programs.

Following the event, 500 volunteers fanned out across Berks County for the Day of Caring — one of the area’s largest single-day volunteer efforts. Teams tackled hands-on projects like gardening, painting, and beautifying at area nonprofits.

These events showcased the power of a deep commitment to building a stronger, more caring community.
