Reading Hospital Foundation Kicks Off No Shave November with Popular Beards and Brews Events

From Reading Hospital Newsroom

Reading Hospital Foundation’s annual No Shave November celebration is back with a big goal. Together, participants are rallying to raise $100,000 to benefit men’s health, cancer care, and mental health initiatives through the McGlinn Cancer Institute.

The month-long fundraiser will officially kick off with “Beards and Brews” on Thursday, Nov. 6, when hospital team members, celebrity bartenders, and community members will join to support men’s health initiatives at McGlinn Cancer Institute.

“I’m proud to be participating in No Shave November again this year,” said Dr. Timothy Lindsay, a celebrity bartender and chief, division of hematology and oncology at McGlinn Cancer Institute at Reading Hospital. “This event is special for our team because it gives us the opportunity to enhance education and care provided for our patients and community.”

This year’s event includes two signature cocktails named after Tower Health leaders and No Shave November participants — Stern’s scruffy spiced mule and Barbera’s bearded crush.

“This event brings the community together in a fun and special way,” said Katherine Thornton, president of Reading Hospital Foundation. “It’s inspiring to see participants, local businesses, and community partners come together for the health of the men in our community.”
