Pennsylvania-based blues band Busker Incognito & the SHOW have released a third album worldwide to herald Reading BluesFest, which begins on Wednesday, Nov. 19, in Reading.
The album, titled “Obscure,” features 11 tracks and is released on the Smoking Bishop label. Three of the tracks, Obscure, Rootworker Blues, and Past the Beekeeper Age Losing My Mojo Blues, are original works by the band. The remaining tracks, Minnie the Moocher, St. James Infirmary Blues, Black Cat Moan, Going Down, Annie Had a Baby, Working on a Building, and Choo Choo Mama (each in their own way), are imaginative reinventions of songs that pay homage to diverse styles of blues and blues composers/performers. Obscure, the title track, was written as a tribute to the tens of thousands of blues musicians who may not have achieved fame and fortune, but paid their dues nonetheless.
Smoky Hoodoo, Blues, Boogie, Dark Misty Funk, Rocking Energy, and raucous, energetic musicality are the hallmarks of the new release.
Now released worldwide on all digital platforms, including Spotify, Amazon Music, Deezer, Apple iTunes, Apple Music, Pandora, and YouTube, “Obscure” by Busker Incognito & the SHOW features stellar musicianship and creative input from home-region artists, including Mike Anderson, Craig Conrad, Noah Gibney, Josh Heller, John King, Dave Kline, Amy Lewis, Dave Lewis, Rob Lienti, John Richards, Steve Richards, Mick Snook, Melissa Tomaszewski, Valerie Trollinger, Jolene Windmiller, and Bob Yost. Many of these artists are inducted members of the Berks County Rock & Roll Hall of Fame.
