The Berks County 4-H Dairy Judging Team recently competed at the North American International Livestock Expo (NAILE) 4-H Dairy Judging Contest in Louisville, KY. They earned the opportunity to compete at this National 4-H Dairy Judging Contest because they placed second in the Pennsylvania 4-H Dairy Judging Contest in June 2025.

The team, consisting of Alexis Servin, Connor Servin, Wyatt Lehner, and Addison Nolan, was coached by 4-H Volunteers Raechel Sattazahn and Brandon Grumbine. They have been working hard, practicing, studying, and preparing as a team for this competition.

Dairy judging is evaluating dairy animals for desirable dairy conformation. At the North American International Livestock Expo 4-H Dairy Judging Contest in November, the team placed seventh out of 20 teams. They also placed ninth in oral reasons, second in the Ayrshire class, third in the Guernsey class, and fourth in the Jersey class. Individually, they placed: Wyatt – second in the Guernsey class, eighth in the Ayrshire class, and 13th in oral reasons; Connor – second in the Jersey class, and 11th overall.

Administered in Pennsylvania by Penn State Extension, 4-H is a community of more than six million young people across America learning leadership, citizenship, and life skills.
