Lives are changing in Reading as I-LEAD and the Reading Housing Authority celebrate their first successful job placements through the Pre-Apprenticeship Prep Course offered at the Neighborhood Resource Center (1001 Scott St.).

Two program participants have secured full-time positions with leading manufacturer Brentwood Industries, marking a significant milestone for this community-based workforce development initiative.

“Brentwood is proud to support programs that open doors for local residents,” said Alexa Wojciechowski, Community Impact Lead at Brentwood Industries. “We’re committed to creating pathways for meaningful careers and investing in the communities that have long supported our growth.”

“This program connects local talent to real jobs and lasting careers,” said Amy Markwood, Program Director at I-LEAD.

“We are truly excited to partner with I-LEAD to bring this program to the Oakbrook community,” said Bill Clemmons, Program Manager of the Oakbrook Neighborhood Resource Center. “This collaboration is essential and greatly needed to help strengthen education, build skills, and support the financial stability of our community.”
