WCR Center for the Arts Presents Carol Fastuca Landscape Exhibit

From WCR Center for the Arts

The WCR Center for the Arts presents an exhibition of landscape paintings by artist Carol Fastuca on view through early February. The exhibition highlights Fastuca’s enduring connection to the natural world and her decades-long exploration of place through painting.

A gallery reception will take place on Friday, Jan. 9, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m., at the WCR Center for the Arts, prior to the Friends of Chamber Music concert featuring the Daedalus Quartet with pianist Matthew Bengtson starting at 7:30 p.m. The concert is presented in memory of David Thun, and the pairing of Fastuca’s landscape work with this program reflects the Thun family’s deep dedication to nature and environmental preservation.

Fastuca holds a BFA from Penn State University and an MFA from Queens College, City University of New York. She taught painting and drawing at Syracuse University and the University of Maryland, Baltimore County for 15 years, and also taught abroad in London and Florence. Now based in Pennsylvania, her work continues to draw inspiration from the surrounding landscape.
