From Pennsylvania State Police
PSP Troop L will host its annual Camp Cadet Program from Sunday, June 21, to Saturday, June 27, at Camp Manatawny, 33 Camp Road, Douglassville, giving young people a chance to experience life at a police academy.
The overnight summer camp accepts boys and girls ages 12 to 15 and aims to introduce participants to the criminal justice system while building positive relationships between law enforcement and youth. Cadets will live in an environment modeled after an actual State Police Academy.
The program features presentations from municipal, state, and federal law enforcement agencies. Participants will learn about teamwork, honesty, and integrity while developing discipline and self-esteem to promote good decision-making.
By the end of the week-long program, cadets will gain an understanding of what it takes to become a police officer.
Registration is now open. The first 100 are guaranteed a spot.
