BCTV Unlocks a Vintage Video Vault

BCTV Unlocks a Vintage Video Vault

By Ryan Elmore, BCTV

As part of BCTV’s ongoing celebration of 50 years of impactful community-based programming, we are proud to announce a new anniversary program feature – Vintage Video Vault!

Vintage Video Vault celebrates BCTV’s long history of community engagement and the producers, guests, and programs that have made (and continue to make) BCTV a trusted and reliable source of local information. Premiering this Saturday, March 14, Vintage Video Vault will include classic programs from our extensive archive.

What should you expect? This ‘throwback’ feature will deliver an engaging mix of content from years gone by and a retrospective look across our community from behind the camera at BCTV. Visitor’s Pass episodes from the late ’80s and early ’90s offer a glimpse of Berks County businesses and organizations. History highlights like Berks County’s Trolley Heritage and Tales of WWII deliver candid interviews and real stories from local residents, and FilmCamp rewinds to the early 2000s with student films produced here in Berks County. A new, old episode each week!

First up is Visitor’s Pass (circa 1990) with a retro look at local manufacturing company Glen-Gery Brick. Vintage Video Vault airs and streams live on BCTV and bctv.org every Saturday at 6 p.m. and can also be viewed on our YouTube channel.

Throughout 2026, BCTV will continue to feature content that honors and highlights the importance of community media and the folks who’ve worked to deliver it for 50 years in Berks County. Mini-clips showcasing archival footage will also continue to air between regular programming. Vintage Video Vault allows us to take this a step further in providing remastered full-length broadcasts, tying together our organization’s illustrious past and exceptional present.

We’re proud of BCTV’s legacy of locally created and community-engaged media, and we’re proud to honor the people who’ve made it possible.
