From Albright College
Albright College is delighted to welcome guests to its campus for the first Shine Bright Albright Gala on Thursday, April 16, at 6 p.m., to recognize dedicated leaders and to support scholarships that empower Albright students to concentrate on learning, leadership, and community engagement.
The elegant dinner gathering debuts as a significant annual fundraising event, uniting Albright alumni, donors, partners, and friends to celebrate three distinguished honorees:
- East Penn Manufacturing President Christy Weeber will receive the Albright Beacon Award in appreciation of her exemplification of ethical leadership, compassion, intellectual curiosity, and dedication to community.
- Reading Mayor Eddie Morán will receive the Community Catalyst Award in recognition of his service, civic leadership, and community collaboration.
- Albright Trustee Emeritus John Scholl, former President of Berks Homes and a 1969 Albright graduate, will receive the Albright Impact Award. An outstanding former Lions basketball player for whom the college’s Scholl LifeSports Center is named, Scholl will be honored for his steadfast commitment and significant contributions to Albright’s success.
Honorary chairperson for the evening will be Albright Trustee and prominent local philanthropist Christ G. “Chris” Kraras ‘69, President and CEO of White Star Tours, and Albright College President Debra M. Townsley, Ph.D., will speak to attendees.
