From Rotary District 7430 Youth Exchange
The morning of Saturday, March 21, was filled with joy and excitement as Rotary District 7430 Youth Exchange students gathered to celebrate the dedication of their Peace Pole at the Wyomissing Library, proudly located at 9 Reading Blvd. in Wyomissing, PA.
The Peace Pole stands as a shining beacon of unity, inviting all people to come together. Each student spoke from the heart, sharing their personal reflections on peace and expressing gratitude for the Rotary Exchange program, which has broadened their perspectives and inspired a deeper commitment to fostering harmony across cultures and nations. The Peace Pole at Wyomissing Public Library is a vibrant display of global unity, featuring messages in English, French, Spanish, Italian, Portuguese, Dutch, Japanese, and Norwegian. Upon unveiling the peace pole, each student shared the message “May Peace Prevail on Earth” in their native language. These languages represent the diverse backgrounds of the current Rotary Youth Exchange Students for the academic year 2025-26 in Rotary District 7430.
Colleen Stamm, Wyomissing Library Director, proudly addressed the gathering, sharing her heartfelt appreciation for what it means to display the Peace Pole at the library, marking a milestone for the community.

According to the Peace Pole website, “Peace Poles are recognized as the most prominent international symbol and monument dedicated to peace on earth. Peace Poles have been planted on every continent in over 200,000 communities by friends and supporters working in unison to uplift the consciousness of humankind. They serve as reminders to cultivate peace in thought, word, and action while symbolizing humanity’s shared desire for a world at peace and in harmony with all of creation.”
As the library’s Peace Pole joins thousands around the world, it becomes part of a universal celebration of harmony and hope. For those inspired to learn more and explore Peace Poles across the globe, please visit Peace Building – Rotary World Peace Pole.
This joyful occasion was made possible by the dedication of local Rotary Clubs, whose ongoing support fuels both short-term (summer) and long-term (academic year) exchange programs. Together, they champion initiatives that uplift the community, leaving a lasting mark — one student, one Peace Pole, and one celebration at a time.
