Community invited to support Parkinson’s programs during April 26 walk at Alvernia University
Reading Hospital Rehabilitation at Wyomissing will host its inaugural “Rise & Stride” 1.2-mile walk on Sunday, April 26, at Alvernia University to raise awareness about Parkinson’s disease.
Check-in will begin at 9 a.m., and the walk will start at 10 a.m. at the Alvernia University PLEX, located at 465 St. Bernardine St., Reading.
Supported by the Reading Hospital Foundation, the community event will bring together individuals, families, healthcare providers, and local businesses in support of those affected by Parkinson’s disease. Every step taken helps provide access to essential programs that directly impact lives across the community.
“I encourage everyone to bring their friends, family, and community spirit as we come together to support those living with Parkinson’s and help advance awareness, care, and hope,” said Stacey Dietrich, therapy manager at the Reading Hospital Rehabilitation at Wyomissing.
Whether walking in honor of a loved one, supporting local healthcare initiatives, or simply looking to make a difference, participants are invited to join this meaningful event. Funds raised will benefit Parkinson’s disease programming at the rehabilitation center, helping expand access to vital therapies, resources, and support services for individuals living with the condition.
Registration is required, and the cost is $30 per participant. Day-of registrations will be accepted online only; cash payments will not be accepted. To register, visit: TowerHealth.org/Rise.
