Berks County Golfers Putt Blindfolded to Help the Visually Impaired

From Tower Marketing on behalf of Vision Resource Center of Berks County

Vision Resource Center is grooming the greens to ensure the course is in championship condition for the ninth annual Fundraiser Golf Tournament on Wednesday, May 20, at Galen Hall Golf Club, located at 645 N. Galen Hall Road, Wernersville, PA. The tournament will feature classic gameplay with a one-of-a-kind, empathy-building twist — a blindfolded putting contest designed to help contestants experience a sensory moment of visual impairment.

Founded in 1929 by the Reading Lions Club, the Vision Resource Center of Berks County has spent nearly a century evolving from a local support group into a vital nonprofit for essential services, including preventative eye screenings for local children, specialized socialization programs, and monthly support groups. In 2018, the Vision Resource Center of Berks County started a new legacy with the annual golf tournament, expanding these vital services through community outreach, fundraising, and fun.

Golfers of all skill levels are invited to grab a club and tee up for a good cause:

Registration and lunch will begin at noon on the day of the event, and the shotgun start is scheduled for 1 p.m. with dinner and awards to follow. Entry is strictly limited to the first 100 golfers.

Visit vrcberks.org/golf or call 610-375-8407 for registration and sponsorship forms. Paper forms and checks (payable to Vision Resource Center of Berks County) can be mailed to 2020 Hampden Blvd., Reading, PA 19604.
