Berks Youth Chorus Presents Spring 2026 Concert: A New Day Rising

From Berks Youth Chorus

Berks Youth Chorus is pleased to announce the final concert of its 2025-26 season, A New Day Rising, on Sunday, May 3. The concert will begin at 3 p.m. at Atonement Lutheran Church in Wyomissing, PA. Featuring some of the finest young voices of Berks County, BYC’s spring concert program includes a variety of musical styles that will leave the audience feeling uplifted and inspired.

The spring concert will feature singers from all three BYC ensembles. The MasterSingers, grades 8-12, is led by director Dan Behler. The combined Chorale & Choristers, grades 3-7, is co-led by directors Michael Adams and Grace Mittleman. All groups will be accompanied by Greta Ertel.

“A New Day Rising is truly a celebration of song,” said Megan Charlesworth, BYC Executive Director. “After a particularly cold and snowy winter, our spring concert program is a breath of fresh air as we welcome in spring and new beginnings.”

Since 1992, the chorus has provided young singers the opportunity to perform in a variety of venues, from nursing homes and churches to concert halls and sports stadiums. Originally a classical organization, Berks Youth Chorus has expanded its repertoire to include music from a wide array of cultures, time periods, languages, and religions. BYC singers and directors embrace that music is a celebration that connects people globally and crosses all boundaries.

A New Day Rising is made possible through the generous support of the Reading Musical Foundation, the Presser Foundation, Tompkins Bank, Mid Penn Bank, Brentwood Industries, and individual donors.

Tickets will be available at the door for $15.00 ($5.00 for students) or can be purchased in advance at berksyouthchorus.org. Children ages 4 and under do not need a ticket.
