Ready.Set.READ! Program Seeking Volunteer Reading Tutors

From United Way of Berks County

Would you like to help children become better readers and make a difference in their lives?

United Way of Berks County would like to invite you and/or your employees to enjoy an enriching and rewarding volunteer opportunity:

Volunteer Reading Tutors are needed for the Ready.Set.READ! program. Each volunteer will tutor one 2nd-grade student who needs extra support with reading to improve his/her reading skills in time for 3rd grade. No previous teaching experience is required. This opportunity is for anyone interested in volunteering weekly for one hour. Current background clearances are required, and training is provided.

United Way of Berks County is currently recruiting tutors to volunteer at the following school districts: Kutztown Area, Oley Valley, and Reading. (Tutor schedule varies based on the school.)

To learn more about the Ready.Set.READ! program, please visit its website: Ready.Set.READ! Star Readers Tutoring Program. You’ll be able to view a list of schools and times. United Way of Berks County asks volunteer tutors to commit to tutoring one 2nd-grade student in reading for one hour each week at a school convenient with their schedule and location.

If interested, please complete the tutor registration form here: Tutor Registration Form.

United Way of Berks County is excited to hear from you and/or employees, and you joining them in Ready.Set.READ!
