From Studio B Boyertown
Studio B Boyertown is calling on artists for entries for the “In Service” juried exhibition, which will be held from intake on Tuesday, June 23, through the end of the show on Tuesday, Aug. 23. An opening reception will be held on Friday, June 26, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.
Theme: Studio B invites artists to submit works responding to “In Service.” We all have stories of “people, places, and things” that have provided some sort of service to one another — some assistance, kindness, or inspiration demonstrating how important we are to one another, perhaps healing some of the divisiveness that exists in the world today, providing hope for our shared future, and inspiring us all to celebrate one another’s loving acts.
In addition, as the USA celebrates its 250th anniversary, the exhibit welcomes artistic responses acknowledging the services provided by our military personnel, firefighters, police, doctors, nurses, teachers, and EMTs, for example.
Juror: Fine artist Bob Williams has drawn and painted all his life, serving as a Marine combat artist in Viet Nam and as an illustrator following his service. He worked in interior church design and restoration and established Motion Graphics, painting murals for commercial and residential clients. Two murals and a handful of Bear Fever bears serve as Bob’s contributions to the local scene. Now retired, Bob continues to paint PA landscapes and capture scenes from his second home in Cape Ann, MA. Visit robertlouiswilliams.com for more information about Bob.
Cost: Entries are $35.00 per artist, two pieces per artist (or $25.00 for Studio B artist members).
Standards and media: This is a show of works in all media and any genre of art. Entries must be original. 2-D works must be framed, wired, and ready to hang (gallery-wrapped canvas is accepted as a frame; no staples or tape showing; no sawtooth hangers). 3-D works that fit on the pedestals are accepted. New work only; no pieces previously entered or exhibited in any Studio B show will be accepted.
Studio B reserves the right to refuse artwork for any reason; however, it traditionally attempts to include every paid entry in the show. In the case that there are too many entries, jurors will choose at least one of each artist’s entries.
Sale: All items exhibited must be offered for sale. There will be a 35% commission on all sales. Any credit card sales will be an additional 5% commission to Studio B. If an entry sells, you will be contacted by email, and a check will follow after the wrap-up of the show. Although Studio B takes the utmost care of your work and its presentation, all artwork is left at the artist’s risk. Studio B and its associates are not responsible for any theft or damage to artwork.
Studio B appreciates your patronage of our facility and does its best to promote all of our artists with respect. It celebrates the diversity of people and artistic genres that local artists offer.
