Girl Scouts of Eastern PA Announces Election of Dr. Yamil Sanchez Rivera to its Board of Directors

Girl Scouts of Eastern Pennsylvania (GSEP) is pleased to announce the election of Dr. Yamil Sanchez Rivera to the organization’s Board of Directors, effective May 2, 2026.

“GSEP is thrilled to welcome Dr. Sanchez to our Board of Directors,” said Kim E. Fraites-Dow, CEO of GSEP. “Dr. Sanchez shares a deep passion for the Girl Scouts’ mission, and his extensive nonprofit experience in our community will be an asset as we continue to grow our impact across our 9-county footprint. We look forward to working with Dr. Sanchez as part of our Board.”

Dr. Sanchez was approved by GSEP’s Girl Scout and adult delegates at the council’s Annual Meeting on Saturday, May 2. Prior to his election, Dr. Sanchez served for two years on GSEP’s Community Excellence Board Committee.

An educator with over 30 years of expertise working with schools and nonprofit organizations across Pennsylvania, Delaware, and New York, Dr. Sanchez’s experience in the classroom and at community development programs brings a profound understanding of working as part of a collective to help the whole family succeed. Currently, Dr. Sanchez is a member of Albright College’s Board of Directors and serves over 4,200 students and families as the Superintendent of Schools with Southeast Delco School District.
