Breast Cancer Support Services of Berks County (BCSS) is proud to announce that Haley Meyers has been selected as the recipient of the 2026 BCSS Director’s Scholarship.

Established in 2022, the BCSS Director’s Scholarship was created by the BCSS Board of Directors to support Berks County students pursuing careers in healthcare. Funded through the Board’s annual giving campaign, the scholarship is awarded each year to a student planning to attend a technical school, nursing school, college, university, or graduate program in a healthcare-related field.

As part of the application process, students submit an essay responding to one of two prompts: Tell us about someone who has made an impact in your life and how that will influence your career path in healthcare, or If you could dedicate your life to fighting for one cause to serve your community, what would it be and why?

A 2026 graduate of Exeter Township Senior High School, Haley will attend Liberty University this fall to pursue a degree in nursing. Her passion for healthcare has been shaped by personal experiences that inspired her desire to care for others.

In her scholarship essay, Haley wrote: “One of the biggest challenges in healthcare today is that patients often feel rushed, unheard, or disconnected from the people providing care. While I may not be able to cure every illness, I believe my role can be one of comfort, support, and advocacy.”

After reviewing this year’s applications, the BCSS Board of Directors Scholarship Committee selected Haley as the recipient of the 2026 Director’s Scholarship, which includes a $500.00 award.

“We are honored to recognize Haley for her commitment to serving others through a career in nursing,” said Michele M. Reinert, CFRE, Executive Director of Breast Cancer Support Services of Berks County. “Her compassion, dedication, and desire to advocate for patients reflect the qualities that make an exceptional healthcare professional. We congratulate Haley and wish her every success as she begins this exciting journey.”

Congratulations, Haley! BCSS wishes you continued success as you pursue your education and future career in healthcare.
