The Berks County Parks & Recreation Department continues to present programs promoting nature, history, and outdoor activity throughout the month of July 2026.
Tuesday, July 7, to Thursday, July 9 | Art in the Park | 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. @ Berks Leisure Area
This is a drop-off program. Get crafty, explore the green spaces, and head out onto the trails to discover just what makes the parks so cool. Geared towards children ages 7 to 12.
$45.00 per child. | Registration is required.
Saturday, July 11 | Summer Wellness Walk | 9 a.m. @ Angora Fruit Farm
Join Parks staff as they get out on the trails of Antietam Lake Park to enjoy an hour-long warm walk with like-minded friends.
Free. | Registration is suggested.
Sunday, July 12 | Upcycled! – Rugmaking | 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. @ Berks County Heritage Center
Learn the folk art of making handmade rugs in this workshop. Materials are provided. Ages 12+. Ages 12 to 15 must be accompanied by an adult participant.
$10.00 per person. | Registration is required.
Wednesday, July 15 | Drop-In Art Camp: Junior Ranger Camp | 9 a.m. to noon @ Bingaman House
This is a drop-off program. Adventurers ages 7 to 12 get ranger-ready with the Berks County Parks Rangers! Campers can expect to create among the canopy of Antietam Lake Park’s beautiful trails.
$20.00 per child. | Registration is required.
Thursday, July 16 | How the Pretzel Survived Prohibition & Other Twisted Tales | 7 p.m. @ Berks County Heritage Center
Join Candace Perry, Curator of Collections at the Schwenkfelder Library & Heritage Center, for a talk highlighting the Pennsylvania German’s favorite snack food: the pretzel!

Friday, July 17 | Concert: Flannel | 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. @ Gring’s Mill
Bring your own chairs and blankets, and stay the evening! On site will be food trucks Heart & Hearth Cuisine and Greco’s of Lititz. Parking is free.

Tuesday, July 21 | Creek Critters Pop-Up | 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. @ Angora Fruit Farm
Families and friends, come on out for a look into the creek critters that call our waters home and learn why they are so important! Geared towards families with children ages 6+.

Wednesday, July 22 | Whoooo Goes There? Night Hike | 7:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. @ Angora Fruit Farm
Berks Parks’ staff will guide a summer night exploration hike on Antietam Lake Park’s wooded trails. This program is appropriate for children ages 7+ due to uneven terrain on the trail.

Saturday, July 25 | Family Fishing Day | 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. @ Antietam Lake Park
Join Parks Staff and Rangers as they enjoy an evening of fishing fun! No experience or tackle necessary. No fishing license required.

Wednesday, July 29 | Guided Sunset/Full Moon Kayaking | 6 p.m. @ Stilling Basin, Blue Marsh to Gring’s Mill Portage
Calling all creek enthusiasts! It’s time to pull out your kayaks! In this guided program, float down the Tulpehocken Creek, enjoying the surrounding sights and sounds on the way.
