Berks Community Television (BCTV) proudly welcomes Lindsay Kennedy and Brett Buckwalter to our Board of Directors and congratulates Stephan Fains and Heidi Mau on their election to officer roles.

“Our Board plays a vital role in shaping BCTV’s future, and we are grateful for leaders who bring both passion for our mission and a forward-looking perspective. Stephan and Heidi will be exceptional officers, and we are thrilled to welcome Brett and Lindsay to the Board,” said Heather Adams, executive director of BCTV.

About our new board members

Lindsay Kennedy serves as Senior Branch Manager at Visions Federal Credit Union. She has nearly 25 years of retail banking experience, including the past 22 years with Visions FCU.

In addition to being a Leadership Berks alumnus, Kennedy is currently the President of FairView Counseling and The Play Therapy Center Board of Directors. She also volunteers on the Women2Women Research & Development Committee and the TExpL Fashion Show Committee, and is a mentor for United Way of Berks County Blueprint for Leadership.

Brett Buckwalter retired after nearly 20 years from Reading Area Community College in May 2025 as the Technical and Operations Coordinator at Miller Center for the Arts. Since then, he has worked as a Designer and Technician at Albright College and Alvernia University.

A graduate of the North Carolina School of the Arts, Buckwalter spent over four decades working in the entertainment industry as a Designer and Production Manager. He also served on the Cocalico School and IU13 Boards. Buckwalter is also a passionate advocate for disability rights.

Our 2026-27 elected officers

BCTV is also pleased to announce that Stephan Fains and Heidi Mau have been elected to BCTV’s 2026-27 Board officer positions, joining Ted Bassano and Fritz Rothermel, both elected to continue in their roles for an additional term.

Stephan Fains serves as Director of Community Engagement & Partnerships at Berks Community Action Program. He is also a Commissioner on the Governor’s Advisory Commission for African American Affairs, a Board Member of Berks Arts, and a Board Member of a men’s group, The Forge.

“It is up to those of us who love our city and county to do all that we can to make as well as keep it a great place,” said Fains.

Heidi Mau, M.F.A., Ph.D., serves as Associate Professor of Communications at Albright College. Mau teaches courses in digital design, media studies, and public speaking. She is also the faculty advisor for the student-run Albright arts magazine, Albright AM.

Mau has an M.F.A. in Film & Media Arts and a Ph.D. in Media & Communication, both from Temple University. She has worked for public access media organizations in Michigan and Ohio, holding positions in media production training, producing, programming, and administrative leadership.

“I am excited to transition into this position during this equally exciting 50th anniversary year of BCTV’s service to the greater Berks community,” said Mau. “BCTV was a pioneer in community media and continues to push the envelope where civic media is concerned. It is an honor to be a part of this ongoing history as a newly elected officer of its Board.”

BCTV’s mission is to empower people and engage community through media. We work to serve the residents of Berks County as an indispensable civic media hub; the “go to” place for community information.
