The City of Reading Police Department is excited to invite residents and visitors to National Night Out 2026, taking place on Tuesday, Aug. 4, with a rain/heat date of Tuesday, Aug. 11, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m., at a new location for 2026, Reading City Park. National Night Out is a nationwide community-building event that strengthens the partnership between law enforcement and the community while promoting public safety, crime prevention, and neighborhood unity.
Parking: Guests attending the event are encouraged to use the designated public parking areas throughout Reading City Park and follow posted signage and directions from event staff. Parking near the basketball courts is reserved for registered vendors only.
This year’s celebration will feature more than 50 community organizations, local businesses, and vendors, offering resources, giveaways, demonstrations, and activities for all ages. Attendees can also enjoy:
- Live music by LOUD Radio
- A live DJ and live music from The Ant & Ang Band
- Free food while supplies last
- Games and family-friendly activities
- Emergency vehicles and public safety displays
- Community organizations and local vendors
- Water activities provided by the Reading Fire Department
Families are encouraged to bring lawn chairs or blankets, relax on the lawn, and enjoy an evening of music, food, and community fellowship. Children should come prepared to get wet and may want to bring a towel for the fire department’s water activities.
“National Night Out is one of the best examples of what makes Reading strong — neighbors, law enforcement, first responders, and community organizations coming together,” said Mayor Eddie Morán. “When we build relationships and get to know one another, we create safer neighborhoods and a stronger sense of community. I encourage everyone to join us at City Park for an evening of fun, fellowship, and community pride.”
“National Night Out is about bringing our community together in a positive environment,” said Officer Sandy Sanchez, Community Response Coordinator & National Night Out event organizer. “We invite everyone to come out, meet their local police officers and first responders, connect with community organizations, and enjoy a safe, fun-filled evening with family and friends.”
The City of Reading Police Department extends its sincere appreciation to the many sponsors, volunteers, and community partners whose generous support has helped make this year’s National Night Out possible. The event is free and open to the public, and everyone is encouraged to attend.
