Yocum Institute for Arts Education and the Reading Symphony Orchestra invite the community to experience Berks In Focus: Symphony of a Thousand Images, a traveling photography exhibition celebrating Berks County through the unique perspectives of student photographers.
On display from August through October 2026, the exhibition features a curated collection of student photography captured throughout Berks County. Highlighting the people, places, landscapes, and everyday moments that define the region, the exhibition offers visitors a fresh look at the community through the eyes of its youngest artists.
The exhibition will travel to four public locations across Berks County, making it accessible to residents and visitors throughout the season:

The exhibition culminates on Saturday, Oct. 10, with the Berks in Focus: Symphony of a Thousand Images multimedia performance presented by the Reading Symphony Orchestra at the Santander Performing Arts Center. During the concert, a selection of the featured student photographs will be projected alongside a live orchestral performance, creating an immersive artistic experience that celebrates both music and photography.
Prior to the performance, the public is invited to attend a Student Photography Reception from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Santander Performing Arts Center. The reception offers an opportunity to meet the featured student photographers and celebrate their creative achievements before the evening concert.
“Berks in Focus is a celebration of creativity, community, and the power of young artists to help us see familiar places in new ways,” said Nadia Pochan, Visual Art Director of Yocum Institute of Arts Education. “We’re thrilled to partner with the Reading Symphony Orchestra to showcase these incredible student photographers and provide a platform where their artistic voices can be experienced by the entire community.”
Presented collaboratively by Yocum Institute for Arts Education and the Reading Symphony Orchestra, Berks in Focus: Symphony of a Thousand Images is made possible through the generous support of the Berks County Community Foundation.
Admission to all exhibition locations is free. Concert tickets for the Oct. 10 performance are available through the Reading Symphony Orchestra.
