Women2Women to Host Annual Evening of Empowerment Featuring Shavonnia Corbin-Johnson

From Greater Reading Chamber Alliance

Women2Women, a special program of the Greater Reading Chamber Alliance (GRCA), will host its annual Evening of Empowerment on Wednesday, Oct. 14, from 5:30 p.m. to 8 p.m., at Redner’s Event Center, with keynote speaker Shavonnia Corbin-Johnson, Vice President of Civic Affairs at Harris Blitzer Sports & Entertainment, for an inspiring evening focused on leadership, resilience, and creating opportunity when the path forward isn’t clearly defined.

During her keynote, “Unscripted Impact: Shaping Success in the Absence of a Blueprint,” Corbin-Johnson will share how embracing uncertainty, trusting your instincts, and leading with authenticity can open doors to unexpected opportunities. Through personal stories and practical insights, attendees will be encouraged to redefine success on their own terms and move forward with confidence, regardless of where they are in their personal or professional journey.

Corbin-Johnson describes her own story as “from the foster house to The White House.” Before joining Harris Blitzer Sports & Entertainment, she served as Deputy Chief of Staff in the Office of Management and Budget during the Obama administration, overseeing a team of more than 900 employees and the national budget. Her career also includes leadership roles with the Pennsylvania Democratic Party, Pennsylvania Lt. Gov. John Fetterman, Pennsylvania Sen. Katie Muth, U.S. Sen. Bob Casey, and a campaign for the U.S. Congress.

A first-generation college graduate, Corbin-Johnson earned a bachelor’s degree from Georgetown University and a master’s degree from The George Washington University, both with a focus on U.S. foreign policy in India, Pakistan, and the Middle East. She also owns a productivity and time management consulting firm, has traveled to 35 countries, speaks four languages, and serves on three national boards.

Whether attendees are advancing their careers, leading teams, navigating change, or taking the next step in their personal journey, the 2026 Evening of Empowerment will provide meaningful inspiration and practical encouragement to help them make an impact without waiting for a perfect plan.

Registration is required. Cost is $75.00 for GRCA members and $95.00 for future GRCA members. The price includes appetizers and drinks. Register at greaterreading.org/empower26.
