Berks Community Health Center Welcomes Two New Providers

Berks Community Health Center (BCHC) is delighted to welcome two new providers to their team. Jiyoung Kim, a Primary Care Nurse Practitioner, will provide care at BCHC’s Oakbrook location (1040 Liggett Ave.). Franklina Williams, a Family Nurse Practitioner, will join BCHC’s team at the Rockland site (1110 Rockland Ave.).

Jiyoung Kim earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Korea University in 2003. She went on to earn her Master of Science in Nursing in 2022 and her Post-MSN Nurse Educator Certificate in 2026 at Moravian University. At Moravian, she is also completing doctoral work that focuses on improving diabetes outcomes among immigrant adults through culturally tailored health education, reflecting her commitment to advancing health equity and supporting community. Jiyoung is a Certified Registered Nurse Practitioner with a clinical background that spans ICU nursing, internal medicine, wound care, chronic disease management, preventive care, and community‑based primary care. She also serves as an adjunct nursing instructor where she enjoys mentoring future nurses through active, hands‑on learning.

Franklina Williams brings a strong foundation in clinical assessment, care plan development, and patient education to BCHC, along with eight years of experience as a registered nurse caring for diverse patient populations. Franklina earned her Master of Science in Nursing from Walden University and her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Gwynedd Mercy University. She is board-certified as a Family Nurse Practitioner through the American Association of Nurse Practitioners (AANP). Her clinical training spans adult primary care, pediatrics, women’s health, and family medicine, giving her the skills to care for patients and families across every stage of life.

Dr. Karen Wang, BCHC’s Chief Medical Officer, said, “Both Jiyoung and Franklina are excellent healthcare professionals, dedicated to providing culturally responsive primary care to individuals and families in the Reading community. We are pleased to have them on the BCHC team.”
